The Top 20 Songs Of The 90’s and 00’s (As Heard On #SorryNotSorry)

Over the last couple of weeks, #AL and I have featured the Top 20 songs from the 90’s and the 00’s (to be pronounced Oh-Ohs if you know what’s good for you). In case you want to take a peek at the list yourself, here they are. Top 20 songs of the 90’s. Top 20 songs of the 00’s. If you want to listen to us discuss (and me sing) the songs from the 90’s, click here. If you want to listen to us discuss the songs (and hear my Nickelback impression) from the 00’s, click here. How the Backstreet Boys didn’t make either of these lists is beyond...
My First Parody Music Video For Your Eyes and Ears!

My First Parody Music Video For Your Eyes and Ears!

Hi all! Now first of all, I’ve made lots of funny videos BUT this is my first video that #AL and I put together completely on our own without the help of others who have a better idea of what they’re doing. We are pretty happy with the way it turned out and hope you like it too….so much that you’ll, I don’t know, share it with your friends? Come on! Watch my video for Walkashame (originally by Meghan Trainor) below. And keep in mind, we’ve all done shameful things when we’re dieting, right? Some of you might relate, particularly today, after the Super Bowl. Curse you, Tostitos and Buffalo Chicken Dip! Thanks for watching! A new episode of #SorryNotSorry will be out on Tuesday and because we love you so much….we’re thinking about adding a second episode during the week. How does that sound? Seriously, what do you think? Love,...

Pop Music Pick Me Up: Korean Edition

Some of you know that I was born in South Korea and lived there for a few years before I moved to Utah. Since then I have always had a soft spot in my heart for Korean pop culture, particularly their pop music. I recently saw a video on CNN about Korea’s latest pop music craze that led me to youtube and now I’m here showing you everything I found. His name is Psy, short for Psycho and he’s been in the music business for a while. He isn’t your typical Korean male pop star with the slim figure, porcelain skin, and cheekbones so chiseled they could cut you. He would be considered fat and kind of goofy. But right now, he’s in. Basically, this guy, Korea’s male Lady Gaga, created the new Macarena in South Korea. It looks pretty fun. And then of course there are the Wonder Girls, my personal favorite of the Korean girl bands out there. I’ve blogged about them before but thought I’d share one of their newer singles which features Akon. I don’t what is happening with these two guys but they crack me up. I present JJ Project’s hit single Bounce. They were produced by the same guy who put together Wonder Girls. Lastly, this girl band blows every other girl band out of the water just by their sheer size alone. There are nine members of this singing group and they made their American Network television debut in January of this year on The Late Show with David Letterman. There’s a lot of hair and a lot of leg in this...

One Direction, One Disappointment?

Ok, I LOVE boy bands. We all know that. And right now, One Direction is taking over world with their sweet sweet sounds. BUT… I’d like to issue a complaint. One of the best things about boy bands are not their songs, not their harmonies but their DANCE MOVES. And last week when One Direction made their big debut on Saturday Night Live, they DID NOT dance. I know. I was just as shocked as you are right now. I watched SNL. But that’s not the point. The point is, where have all the good boy bands gone? First, check out One Direction’s performance for yourself. Adorable, right? No, I fell asleep. Give me the dance moves! Now I can’t find the Backstreet Boys performance on SNL on youtube because they were on SNL way back in the late 90’s or early 00’s but I know for a fact that they danced so don’t try to give me any of your lame excuses for One Direction, like the stage is really small or they changed formations. No, I know BSB danced because I taped their performance on my VCR and watched is over and over again. What? That’s normal. I can, however, provide evidence that no matter how old, washed up, or tired a boy band is, they still dance. For example: Anyway, that’s all. One Direction, I want to love you. So hire a choreographer. May I suggest: And my favorite boy band video of all time. Love,...
